About the PI: About

About Mike

Originally from Queens, NY, Mike earned his Bachelors Degrees in Chemistry and Biology from SUNY Cortland.  Mike fell in love with chemical ecology studying trail marking and host colonization behaviors of Cactoblastis cactorum caterpillars as an undergraduate.  He briefly worked as a research technician in Rob Raguso's lab at Cornell University before earning his PhD at Cornell with Charlie Linn studying host location behaviors of Paralobesia viteana moths.  Mike did his postdoctoral research at Penn State University with Tom Baker and Nina Jenkins studying mushroom fly behaviors on mushroom farms.  

Mike lives in Bellefonte PA with his wife, Mary, his cat Max, and his dog Leo.  In his spare time he enjoys going to Penn State Football and Hockey games and playing pickleball.
